Automation Engineer (Logistics, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves designing and developing advanced automation solutions for logistics systems, focusing on a new robotic cage filling product that enhances parcel handling efficiency. The position is part of a collaborative engineering team dedicated to creating innovative solutions for global logistics leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, SCL, and LAD for safety programming.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming in industrial settings.
• Understanding of hardware integration, I/O nodes, drives, Profinet, Ethernet communication, and failsafe programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product code for the cage filling solution, ensuring high performance and supporting future enhancements.
• Commission PLC code in an emulator and conduct testing at a dedicated test center.
• Provide support to the Customer Support team for operational systems as needed.
• Review layouts and solutions early in the development process to align with standard product offerings.
• Participate in the documentation of solutions.
