Chemical Process Specialist (Manufacturing, Remote)

Job summary

This role focuses on ensuring successful start-up performance for new builds and line conversions in chemical processing areas. The specialist will lead efforts to optimize production outcomes while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in can manufacturing as a Chemical Process Operator or Manager.
• Hands-on experience with washers, wastewater treatment systems, and chemical handling.
• Proven skills in equipment setup, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Ability to train others in process operations; Train-the-Trainer certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Experience with line launches or rebuild projects is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel on short notice.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized chemical and process adjustments to enhance production efficiency.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for mechanical and process issues.
• Ensure reliability of chemical processing equipment during start-ups.
• Provide technical leadership during start-up phases.
• Train site personnel on process operations and expectations.
• Support emergency breakdowns and size conversions.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with safety and legal standards.
• Identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies in processes.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance routines.
• Optimize chemical processing lines using measurement systems.
• Support the implementation of Best Operating Practices (BOE) standards.
