Chemical Process Specialist (Manufacturing, Remote)

Job summary

This role focuses on ensuring successful start-up performance for new builds and line conversions in chemical processing areas, with an emphasis on efficiency, spoilage reduction, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chemical Process Operator or Chemical Process Manager in can manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized chemical and process adjustments to enhance production outcomes.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex mechanical and process challenges.
• Ensure optimal performance of chemical processing equipment during start-ups, aligning results with start-up curves.
• Provide technical leadership for performance in assigned areas during start-up phases.
• Train site personnel on process understanding and performance expectations.
• Support emergency breakdowns and size conversions, enabling local teams to operate independently.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
• Identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the development and execution of preventive maintenance routines.
• Optimize chemical processing lines using in-line measurement systems and controls.
• Assist in implementing Best Operating Environment standards within assigned areas.

Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with washers, wastewater treatment systems, and filtration.
• Proven capability in equipment setup, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Ability to train others effectively; Train-the-Trainer certification is a plus.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on waste reduction.
• Flexibility to travel on short notice.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

• Proficiency in computer tools for data analysis and reporting.
