Cloud FinOps Engineer (Remote, International)

Job summary

This role involves developing and maintaining a cloud financial operations (FinOps) platform that supports engineering product teams by optimizing cloud budgets and facilitating data-driven financial decisions. The position emphasizes automation and collaboration across various cloud providers and on-prem solutions.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in building applications and automation using cloud-native services and Python.
• Understanding of pricing models and architectural choices that impact costs.
• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines for large datasets using Python and/or Spark.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a unified cost management solution within the data platform, including new integrations to data sources and consumer interfaces in PowerBI.
• Create and enhance PowerBI reports, PowerApps, and chatbots to meet user needs.
• Build, deploy, and maintain data pipelines for existing services and expand to additional FinOps scopes.
• Analyze cost data to provide recommendations on rightsizing, re-architecting, and budgeting.
• Contribute to the FinOps roadmap, enhancing products, services, and processes for improved automation.

Skills

• Experience with PowerBI reporting and semantic model creation.
• Familiarity with building chatbots and agents in cloud environments.
• FinOps practitioner certification (e.g., introduction to FinOps LFS175x).
• AWS cloud practitioner and/or Azure fundamentals certifications.
• Background in Cloud, Data engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
