Director of Engineering (Security Risk Management, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves leading the evolution of a Security Risk Management platform focused on vulnerability analysis and remediation at an enterprise scale. The position requires a blend of technical leadership, engineering culture transformation, and product excellence to enhance application security workflows.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing distributed systems at scale.
• Expertise in designing high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and complex data models.
• Familiarity with various database technologies including relational, time-series, and graph databases.
• Experience with stream processing frameworks and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of security practices related to vulnerability assessment and application security.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect distributed systems for real-time processing of vulnerability data from numerous repositories.
• Lead the transition from monolithic security scanning to microservices-based vulnerability management systems.
• Establish technical standards for system observability and performance optimization.
• Mentor senior engineers in distributed systems design and architecture.
• Collaborate with product management and design teams to enhance user experience for security professionals and developers.
• Drive the technical roadmap for vulnerability correlation and automated remediation workflows.

Skills

Education
