Job summary

This role is a key leadership position focused on managing and expanding a team responsible for a large-scale data platform. The Engineering Manager will ensure the platform's query infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and performs well for millions of users globally. The position requires a blend of technical leadership, strategic planning, and people management, fostering a collaborative culture while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in engineering management, particularly with API-driven or platform-level data services.
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale, high-throughput platforms or data-intensive applications.
  • Strong technical background in observability, incident response, and operational excellence.
  • Experience in managing software systems through their full lifecycle, from planning to optimization.
  • Excellent skills in people management, including hiring and coaching.
  • Familiarity with remote team dynamics and collaboration across time zones.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security in platform services is essential.
  • Familiarity with knowledge graphs, RDF/SPARQL, or open data initiatives is advantageous.
