Front End Specialist (Manufacturing, Remote)

Job summary

This role focuses on supporting new build and line conversion start-up performance in the manufacturing sector, specifically in the areas of cupper, bodymaker, and trimmer processes. The position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and spoilage reduction while ensuring compliance with environmental and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical qualification
• Training/teaching qualification (minimum Train The Trainer)
• Strong knowledge of the full can-making process with expertise in at least one specific area
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in can manufacturing
• Competent computer skills for data analysis and report writing
• English communication skills (minimum communicative level)

Responsibilities

• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Lead equipment start-up and provide technical support during installation and early production
• Serve as the on-site operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned process areas
• Deliver structured training to plant teams, focusing on on-the-job instruction
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, chemical, and process issues during start-up
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to transition to steady-state operations
• Document and communicate lessons learned for continuous improvement
• Support size conversions and ensure local teams can execute safe changeovers
