Head of Platform Engineering (Remote, Copenhagen)

Job summary

This role involves leading platform engineering and technical support teams, overseeing cloud infrastructure implementation and maintenance, and ensuring high-quality client support. The position is strategic, focusing on improving public transportation experiences through innovative technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure and experience in building automation tools.
• Deep expertise in Python, Public Cloud Platforms, Kubernetes, and Development Lifecycle Tools.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven leadership experience in platform engineering or technical support.
• Strong background in cloud technologies, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee platform architecture, managing tools, people, and processes.
• Align product and project roadmaps to drive success.
• Collaborate with developers to design and deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Drive development and maintenance of Infrastructure-as-Code and automation processes.
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes-based systems focusing on reliability and maintainability.
• Monitor and address cost and security issues across platforms.
• Contribute to strategic decisions on platform architecture and tooling.
• Write maintainable and efficient code in Python to support infrastructure.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python and Java.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with Pulumi or Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Experience with microservices architecture and DevOps practices.
