Junior Mechanical Engineer (Contract, Remote)

Job summary

This is a 6-month temporary position focused on developing advanced engineering capabilities for a leading toy manufacturer. The role involves applying strong knowledge in math, physics, and robust design to enhance the functionality and quality of product components.

Qualifications

• Background in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of geometry, math, physics, and materials applicable to design processes.
• Familiarity with kinematic design principles and the ability to create clear, robust design geometries.
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Redesign the existing connector matrix using mathematical and physical principles.
• Develop connector designs that ensure predictable performance and reduced variance sensitivity.
• Simplify complex geometry into a new standard for easier application by developers.
• Deliver CAD files and specifications for new product elements.
• Maintain objective criteria based on mathematical and physical standards.

Skills

• Strong analytical skills with experience in data management and performance evaluation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with tools such as MatCAD, Python, and 3D CAD design is advantageous.

Education

• Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Technology, or equivalent.

• CAD software, MatCAD, Python.
