Job summary

This role involves developing and maintaining automated test suites for front-end applications and APIs in a remote setting, focusing on enhancing the reliability of software releases.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining automated test suites for web applications.
  • Proven experience with Playwright for end-to-end browser automation is essential; familiarity with Cypress is advantageous.
  • Strong background in API test automation, including contract, functional, and integration tests.
  • Experience with CI/CD integration of automated tests is required.
  • Knowledge of testing data-heavy applications involving maps and charts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for front-end products and public APIs.
  • Lead end-to-end test automation using Playwright, covering functional, regression, cross-browser, and performance scenarios.
  • Own API test automation by writing and maintaining various types of tests for public and internal APIs.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable test execution.
  • Advance the overall QA strategy, tooling, and infrastructure, reporting on metrics related to coverage and product risk.
  • Validate features related to interactive maps and user-upload tools, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Document test cases, validate acceptance criteria, and maintain regression suites for new releases.
  • Report and track bugs effectively, collaborating with the product team to prioritize issues.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Playwright and Vitest for testing.
  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Redux.
  • Experience with backend technologies like Node.js, Go, and Python.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Docker.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Tools

  • Experience with Git, GitHub, Postman, and CI/CD tools like Google Cloud Build.
