Senior Backend Engineer (Remote, Global)

Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals with experience in shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Practical experience in designing automation workflows and improving them iteratively.
• Proficiency in Postgres or similar databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes using tools like GitLab or GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Lead development on major projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for HR and Payroll products.
• Provide technical insights and feedback to improve product offerings.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to the shared codebase.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in hiring processes.
• Implement performance-focused interfaces and redesign engineering workflows.

Skills

• Experience with Functional Programming languages (e.g., Elixir, Erlang, Scala).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and modern front-end frameworks (Next.js, React).

Education

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in software engineering.
