Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Renewable Energy, Remote)

Job summary

A highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer is sought to enhance offshore geotechnical data acquisition, interpretation, and reporting within a globally distributed team. The role involves international travel and collaboration across various locations.

Qualifications

• Offshore and onshore geotechnical experience, particularly in offshore windfarm projects, including HDDs, cables, and foundation design.
• MSc (or equivalent) in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related geoscience discipline. Chartered status or progress towards it is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of industry technical codes, processes, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control of diverse geotechnical datasets.
• Manage projects to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes.
• Conduct geotechnical design and support design processes.
• Review geotechnical surveys and interpret data effectively.
• Provide technical guidance and critique technical reports.
• Support certification activities for geotechnical projects.
• Contribute to R&D activities and the development of in-house geotechnical tools.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders and develop project geo risk registers.

Skills

• Proficiency in managing large technical datasets and familiarity with geotechnical software tools.
• Understanding of laboratory testing and ability to manage labs.
• Experience in designing scour protections and conducting seabed mobility studies.
• Innovative approach to geotechnical challenges.

Education

• MSc or equivalent in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with SQL datasets and cloud-based solutions is advantageous. Proficiency in geotechnical software tools is essential.
