About the role

Job summary

The Senior Sustainability Engineer focuses on achieving energy KPI goals, particularly in water management, through auditing and implementing best practices in chemical processes within can manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical process operations, specifically in can manufacturing or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in leading chemical processes.
  • Working knowledge of basic chemistry.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on can washers and chemical processes used in can-making plants.
  • Implement global standards for water and waste generation.
  • Support stakeholders in adopting best practices for water and waste management.
  • Train plant employees on efficient water use and waste generation practices.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies in implementing global standards.
  • Develop and plan capital projects to support sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify new sustainability technologies.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of chemical process operations and optimization.
  • Experience with wastewater treatment plants and washers control.

Education

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.

Tools

  • Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
