Software Control Engineer (Food Processing, Hybrid)

Job summary

The role involves developing and maintaining PLC and HMI software for various systems within the prepared foods sector. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and offers opportunities for creativity in designing innovative production solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in PLC programming/Controls engineering.
• Proficient in PLC programming, structured text, and ladder logic.
• Experience in developing machine UI/GUI.
• Knowledge of frequency drives and industrial communication protocols such as EtherNetIP and OPC-UA.
• Ability to develop software features for standard equipment and order engineering, including commissioning at customer sites.
• Familiarity with PackML standards and capability to read and understand electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test software modules and features for equipment.
• Analyze requirements and write design specifications for software.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to team spirit.
• Provide customer-site support for new product releases and training.
• Maintain technical knowledge within the field of expertise.
• Prepare and upgrade/install systems at customer locations worldwide.

Skills

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC platform, including Studio 5000 or B&R PLC is a plus.
• Familiarity with FactoryTalk ME/SE or Optix is advantageous.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Tools

• PLC programming tools, industrial communication protocols, and software development environments.
