Business Controller (Finance, Energy, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves providing financial expertise to influence strategic decisions and improve business performance within the Energy sector. The Business Controller will support management teams with high-quality financial planning and analysis, focusing on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to drive sustainable impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, Economics, or Mathematics.
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified, or motivated to pursue certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform core financial activities and lead performance reviews.
• Enhance financial understanding and provide guidance on complex project setups.
• Manage Income Statement and Balance Sheet reporting with analysis for leadership.
• Conduct financial analysis, including cost, margin, and profitability assessments.
• Guide budgeting and forecasting cycles with business leaders.
• Manage Working Capital discipline and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
• Promote continuous improvement in Business Finance processes and tools.

Skills

• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, Economics, or Mathematics.

Tools

• Power BI, ERP systems (Maconomy is a plus), Microsoft Office.
