About the role

Job summary

This role involves leading financial operations and providing strategic insights to drive business growth. The Controller will oversee accounting, reporting, and compliance functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes while fostering a collaborative remote work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred, Master’s or MBA is a plus.
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3–5 years in a Controller or senior financial management role.
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or inventory-based businesses is highly desirable.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, financial modeling, and ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or SAP.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, IFRS principles, and US tax regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting.
  • Ability to work remotely and manage multiple priorities across time zones.

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, preparing comprehensive financial statements and management reports.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting to support leadership decisions.
  • Conduct profitability analysis by product, customer segment, and business unit, developing financial models for new initiatives.
  • Optimize financial systems, integrate ERP platforms with e-commerce and inventory systems, and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, managing relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and training to enhance overall financial literacy.
