Data Scientist (Applied AI, Logistics, Remote)

Job summary

This role focuses on developing and implementing AI solutions to address operational challenges in logistics, ferry, and terminal operations. The position is centered on creating deployable systems that have a measurable impact on decision-making processes.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field
• Approximately 1–5 years of experience with machine learning and statistical models
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in modeling and problem formulation
• Experience in designing, training, and implementing predictive models or optimization algorithms in a production setting

Responsibilities

• Translate operational challenges into analytical and modeling approaches
• Develop machine learning models, statistical methods, and optimization solutions
• Design and build AI products that leverage agentic workflows for real value
• Create minimum viable products (MVPs) and work with engineers to iterate them into production
• Collaborate with stakeholders and effectively communicate results

Skills

• Proficiency in Python for prototyping solutions
• Strong foundation in modeling, mathematics, and problem-solving
• Familiarity with modern AI concepts, including large language models (LLMs)
• Ability to work across machine learning, statistics, and optimization
