Job summary

This role involves overseeing the maintenance and development of a critical peer-to-peer file transfer system used in the financial sector, specifically on IBM mainframe platforms. The position requires expertise in Assembler programming and a strong understanding of mainframe environments.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience with IBM mainframe environments (ISPF/TSO, JES).
  • Advanced skills in Assembler programming, especially in maintaining Panels and Batch processes.
  • Strong knowledge of COBOL programming.
  • Familiarity with REXX and Batch transport layer interfaces.
  • Proven experience with cryptographic key management and security protocols.
  • Proficient in ConnectDirect or IBM Sterling Integrator.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Personal Attributes

  • Maintain and enhance the PiNet Batch client software and codebase.
  • Implement and validate changes in Assembler code.
  • Provide support and documentation for sector participants.
  • Facilitate the annual exchange of cryptographic keys.
  • Perform DBA tasks related to DBIO and PiNet Batch.
  • Coordinate activities across the sector and manage risks associated with legacy systems.
  • Support and develop in other mainframe areas as needed.
  • Methodical and analytical in managing legacy systems and evaluating risks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and sectors.
  • Proactive in documentation, communication, and governance standards.
