QA Engineer (Remote, Technology)

Job summary

The role involves collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to ensure high-quality delivery across customer journeys, focusing on risk and continuous improvement. The position allows for hybrid or fully remote work.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
• Experience with various testing types including functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing
• Proven collaboration with Product and Engineering teams
• Hands-on experience in creating and maintaining test artifacts such as checklists, bug reports, test cases, and test plans
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail or similar)
• Proficient use of browser DevTools
• Experience with version control systems like Git (GitHub, GitLab)
• Ability to perform SQL queries for data validation
• Proactive in improving testing strategies and QA processes
• Capability to read and understand code (e.g., TypeScript, C#)
• Experience with API testing (REST) using tools like Postman or Insomnia

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of business processes and customer journeys to guide quality decisions
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to ensure quality from discovery through delivery
• Define and evolve test strategies focusing on real customer behavior and critical scenarios
• Validate end-to-end behavior across systems to ensure complex customer journeys function correctly
• Conduct hands-on exploratory testing to identify issues not covered by automated tests
• Assess release readiness by balancing test coverage, automation signals, risk, and customer impact
• Review product requirements and designs to identify ambiguities and risks
• Take ownership of quality for assigned product areas, focusing on continuous improvement
• Use data and judgment to prioritize testing efforts on high-impact risks
• Influence better product and engineering outcomes through practical feedback

Skills

• Experience with test automation and JavaScript/TypeScript-based testing frameworks (Cypress, Playwright) is a plus.

Education

• Relevant educational background in software engineering or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks, version control systems, and API testing tools.
