Senior Backend Engineer (Remote, Global)

Job summary

This role involves joining a team of engineers to develop tools, APIs, and integrations for various products. The position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work on complex challenges that impact global employment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, with a strong background in building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects.
• Proficiency in Postgres or similar databases.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major projects and participate in cross-team initiatives.
• Engage in product work, providing feedback and suggesting improvements based on technical insights.
• Maintain a solid understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to the shared codebase.
• Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide them in their professional development.
• Design and implement APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Skills

• Familiarity with Functional Programming languages like Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is a plus.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and front-end frameworks such as Next.js, React, Vue, or Angular is advantageous.

Education

• Relevant professional experience in software engineering.
