Job summary

The role involves developing and managing medical-grade automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems, focusing on training, fine-tuning, and deploying models in real-world clinical settings. The position emphasizes collaboration with product and platform teams to ensure reliable and efficient ASR services.

Qualifications

• Proficient programming skills in Python with experience in production-grade codebases.
• Hands-on experience in speech recognition and ASR, including training or fine-tuning end-to-end ASR models at scale.
• Familiarity with evaluation and validation techniques, including word error rate (WER) analysis.
• Experience in deploying and maintaining ASR services in production environments.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration across research, engineering, and product teams.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Preferred: Experience with multilingual ASR, streaming inference, and healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

• Train and fine-tune ASR models, focusing on dataset strategy and domain adaptation.
• Develop validation frameworks for evaluating ASR performance across various conditions.
• Deploy and manage ASR inference services with an emphasis on reliability and efficiency.
• Optimize model performance, including latency and throughput improvements.
• Build and maintain APIs and services using frameworks like FastAPI and Kubernetes.
• Lead technical ownership of ASR components and mentor junior engineers.

Skills

• Proficient in PyTorch, Apache Kafka, NVIDIA Triton, FastAPI, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with MLOps tools for model tracking and monitoring.

Education

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
