Job summary

Qualifications

• Several years of direct trading experience in European power markets with a proven track record of performance.
• Strong understanding of power fundamentals, market microstructure, and volatility behavior.
• Advanced analytical skills with experience in handling large and complex datasets.

Responsibilities

• Lead proprietary trading with full ownership of positioning, market risk, and PnL across selected European markets.
• Identify, assess, and monetize opportunities across intraday, short-term, and curve horizons.
• Execute trades while adhering to risk limits and governance frameworks.
• Build and maintain fundamental models that support trading decisions.
• Develop analytical frameworks and systematic tools for strategy design and signal generation.
• Collaborate with data engineers and IT to enhance infrastructure and analytical workflows.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover opportunities and translate insights into actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in trading processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Skills

• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python; knowledge of SQL, MATLAB, or R is advantageous.
• Experience with forecasting, optimization, scenario analysis, or risk attribution.
• High ownership and initiative with the ability to drive concepts to commercial execution.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge across teams.

Education

• Relevant degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience in trading and analytics.
