Senior Software Engineer (Renewable Energy, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves contributing to the development of software solutions that support the renewable energy transition, focusing on reducing electricity costs and driving climate impact. The engineer will collaborate with the engineering and product teams to enhance various systems and tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building and maintaining backend systems in production.
• Strong ownership of projects and a bias for shipping software frequently.
• Ability to work independently and make confident decisions.
• Willingness to learn about energy and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-stakes systems for real-time energy management and trading.
• Design and maintain data pipelines and backend systems for processing large volumes of energy data.
• Build and maintain backend systems for billing and secure integrations with renewable energy assets.
• Contribute to user-facing features that help customers track their energy consumption and emissions.
• Support the growth of infrastructure to handle increasing volume and geographical expansion.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical decision-making.

Skills

• Familiarity with Elixir, Phoenix framework, TypeScript, Python, and cloud services (GCP).
• Experience with databases such as Postgres, TimeScale, and BigQuery is a plus.
• Interest in leveraging AI tools for software development.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.
