About the role

Job summary

This role involves developing and maintaining PLC and HMI software for food processing systems, working within a multidisciplinary team. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days a week in the office, and focuses on innovative production system solutions for prepared foods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in PLC programming/Controls engineering.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, structured text, and ladder logic.
  • Experience in developing machine UI/GUI.
  • Knowledge of frequency drives and industrial communication protocols such as EtherNetIP and OPC-UA.
  • Ability to develop software features for standard equipment and custom engineering, including commissioning at customer sites.
  • Familiarity with PackML standards and capability to read electrical drawings.
  • Enjoyment of working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of software modules and features.
  • Analyze requirements and write design specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to team spirit.
  • Provide customer-site support for new product releases and training.
  • Maintain technical knowledge in the field of expertise.
  • Prepare and install systems at customer locations worldwide.

Skills

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC platform, including Studio 5000, or B&R PLC.
  • Familiarity with FactoryTalk ME/SE or Optix is a plus.
  • Knowledge of B&R PLC and Automation Studio is advantageous.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Tools

  • PLC programming tools, HMI development software, and industrial communication protocols.
