About the role

Job summary

The role involves managing a team of buyers and leading procurement activities for various projects, ensuring the acquisition of materials and equipment on a competitive basis. The Project Procurement Manager will oversee complex purchasing projects, including both engineered and non-engineered items, while ensuring compliance with company policies and objectives.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent in a related field or applicable discipline.
  • Extensive professional experience in procurement, including supervisory and technical roles.
  • Strong conflict resolution and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project purchasing team, including negotiation and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Administer procurement duties for designated purchase packages, including RFQ issuance, tender evaluation, and purchase order management.
  • Make independent decisions and set priorities in complex situations.
  • Manage smaller projects or portions of larger projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and management, preparing and presenting proposals and reports.

Skills

  • Advanced understanding of procurement systems, processes, and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and business acumen.
  • Leadership skills to guide and direct work through supervisors or professionals.

Education

  • University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with procurement management software and tools.
