About the role

Job summary

The Senior Manager of External Warehousing & Logistics is responsible for developing and implementing a global strategy for external warehousing across Europe and the Rest of World. This role involves overseeing external partners to ensure compliant and efficient operations that support a growing product portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, particularly in external warehousing and logistics.
  • Proven track record in formulating and executing supply chain strategies at a regional or global scale.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, financial processes, and compliance with SOX/GxP.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management, including negotiation and performance oversight.
  • Budget management experience with a focus on cost optimization.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across various functions.
  • Experience in a global, matrix organization.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Leadership experience in project or people management, with a focus on driving change.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the global external warehousing strategy ensuring scalability and compliance.
  • Serve as the main contact for external warehousing partners and logistics suppliers, fostering strong relationships.
  • Ensure efficient logistics flows for inbound and outbound operations across global partners.
  • Lead the implementation and validation processes at external warehouses, including contract management.
  • Oversee supplier performance, monitoring KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the warehousing budget, ensuring cost control and alignment with financial goals.
  • Maintain accurate inventory management practices across external warehouses.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and GxP standards in warehousing and distribution processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Ensure optimal performance of logistics systems, including enhancements and testing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Experience with logistics-related systems, such as SAP ERP.
