About the role

Job summary

The Senior Manager of External Warehousing & Logistics is responsible for developing and implementing a global strategy for external warehousing across Europe and the Rest of World. This role involves managing relationships with external partners to ensure compliance, efficiency, and scalability in operations that support a growing product portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, particularly in external warehousing and logistics.
  • Proven track record in formulating and executing supply chain strategies on a regional or global scale.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, financial processes, and compliance with SOX/GxP regulations.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management, including negotiation and performance oversight.
  • Budget management experience with a focus on cost optimization.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across various functions and levels.
  • Experience in a global, matrix organization.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Leadership experience in project or people management, with a focus on driving change and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the global external warehousing strategy, ensuring compliance and cost efficiency.
  • Serve as the main contact for external warehousing partners and logistics suppliers, fostering strong relationships.
  • Oversee logistics flows for inbound and outbound operations across global external warehouses.
  • Lead the implementation and validation processes at external partners, including contract negotiation and management of service level agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the warehousing budget, ensuring cost control and alignment with financial goals.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and compliance across external warehouses.
  • Uphold SOX and GxP compliance in inventory and warehousing processes.
  • Collaborate with external partners to enhance efficiency and service quality through process improvements and digitalization.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure GxP compliance across the warehousing and distribution network.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Maintain and optimize logistics-related systems, including enhancements and testing.

Education

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools
