About the role

Job summary

This position offers a unique opportunity for a Student Assistant to gain practical experience in a global procurement function within the maritime sector, focusing on the Vessel Newbuilding category. The role involves collaboration with a diverse team and exposure to various project-related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university program, ideally in the final year of a Bachelor's or first year of a Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Eligible to work in Denmark.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a keen interest in global procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in purchasing tugboats with an annual spend exceeding 100M USD, supporting fleet renewal and growth initiatives.
  • Contribute to the execution of the Newbuilding category strategy.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on vessel pricing, availability, supplier capacity, and technology trends.
  • Support sourcing projects, including RFI/RFQ processes, quotations analysis, and supplier negotiations.
  • Help identify new suppliers and prepare for meetings.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and tasks as needed.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to convey analyses clearly.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Education

  • Actively pursuing a degree in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with digital tools for sourcing and procurement processes.
