About the role

Job summary

The Country Director is responsible for the strategic direction and business performance of a healthcare organization in Denmark. This senior leadership role involves shaping and executing the country strategy in alignment with regional priorities, ensuring sustainable growth and effective market access.

Qualifications

  • Academic degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in business or general management roles, with prior general management experience being advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish is a plus.
  • Proven track record of full P&L ownership, including revenue growth and cost control.
  • Experience as a legal entity head or statutory board member, overseeing governance and risk management.
  • Extensive background in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the country strategy aligned with Nordic and enterprise goals.
  • Set ambitious objectives and allocate resources to drive growth.
  • Manage the country P&L and develop business and tactical plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare authorities and industry partners.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing organization focused on customer-centricity and efficiency.
  • Model and promote organizational values and leadership behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, managing risks proactively.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and organizational development skills.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, particularly in complex market environments.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and building external networks.
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly regulated settings.

Education

  • Relevant academic degree required; advanced degrees preferred.

Tools

  • Proficiency in business data analysis and budget management tools.
