Job summary

This role involves leading and enhancing the governance and compliance function within a pan-European real estate investment organization. The position requires strategic oversight and practical implementation of policies and processes that align with the company's objectives and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic degree in law, business administration, auditing, or a similar field.
  • Significant experience in governance, compliance, or related oversight functions within a larger or regulated organization.
  • Strong strategic and structured work approach with high professional integrity.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to build trust across various management levels.
  • Clear and effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the company's policy framework and internal governance documents.
  • Coordinate compliance efforts across the organization and support implementation in various countries.
  • Advise management and business units on governance and compliance issues.
  • Prepare materials for the Board of Directors and contribute to management reporting.
  • Foster a strong governance and compliance culture through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with key functions such as Legal, Internal Audit, and Finance.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement relevant business improvements.
  • Manage the Group Whistleblower system and handle cases with confidentiality.
  • Deliver training on the Code of Conduct and company values.

Skills

  • Strong business understanding with the ability to balance operational needs and compliance.
  • Ability to create structure in complex processes and maintain attention to detail.
  • High personal integrity and trustworthiness.

Education

  • A degree in a relevant field such as law, business administration, or auditing is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with governance frameworks, compliance management systems, and reporting tools is beneficial.
