Job summary

The Peatlands Technical Advisor plays a crucial role in providing scientific and technical support for global peatland-related Natural Climate Solutions (NCS). This position focuses on advancing strategies for peatland protection, management, and restoration, working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including Indigenous Peoples and local communities.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in applied peatland science, ecology, and social science.
  • Experience in project management and strategic planning related to environmental conservation.
  • Ability to conduct technical analyses on peatland carbon, biodiversity, and hydrology.

Responsibilities

  • Offer technical advisory support for peatland NCS pathways, ensuring alignment with global strategies.
  • Design and implement strategic roadmaps for peatland NCS, focusing on ecological and social conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop innovative studies and scalable models.
  • Support fundraising efforts by creating technical content for proposals and reports.
  • Provide training and mentorship on peatland NCS science and implementation strategies.

Education
