Job summary

This role involves contributing to project-based AI opportunities by designing computational chemistry problems and creating Python-based solutions. Contributors will engage in tasks that simulate real-world chemistry research workflows and require advanced reasoning in physical and quantum chemistry.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other programming languages is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles.
  • Experience with numerical methods in chemistry.
  • Understanding of computational chemistry concepts and methods.
  • Strong written English skills (C1+ level).

Responsibilities

Project time expectations

Tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active project phases, based on specific project needs.

Compensation

Contributors can earn up to $45 per hour, depending on their expertise and contribution pace, with variations based on project scope and complexity.

  • Design original computational chemistry problems that reflect real research workflows.
  • Create Python programming tasks that require computational solutions.
  • Ensure problems are complex and cannot be solved manually in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Develop problems based on actual research challenges or practical applications.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard computational chemistry techniques.
  • Document problem statements and provide verified answers clearly.
