About the role

Job summary

This PhD position focuses on the experimental development and validation of multi-target GPCR inhibitors, utilizing advanced wet lab techniques within the fields of protein engineering and mRNA delivery. The role is primarily laboratory-based and involves interdisciplinary collaboration and data analysis.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biomedicine, or a related field (or nearing completion)
  • Strong hands-on experience in molecular biology and protein expression
  • Familiarity with cell culture and functional assays
  • Ability to plan experiments systematically and work independently
  • Highly motivated with the capacity to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

  • Clone, express, and characterize therapeutic minibinders
  • Develop and optimize synthetic mRNA constructs
  • Conduct cell-based functional GPCR assays
  • Perform protein purification and biochemical characterization
  • Assess biological activity in relevant in vitro systems
  • Contribute to in vivo validation studies, including electrophysiological assessments
  • Analyze data and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals

Education

Salary and appointment terms

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or an equivalent academic level is required.
  • The position is for a duration of 3 years, with salary based on the collective agreement with the relevant professional associations.
