About the role

Job summary

A highly motivated and experienced Staff Scientist is sought to lead a groundbreaking initiative focused on RNA therapeutics for cardiometabolic diseases. This role involves contributing to the translation of basic disease findings into medicinal RNA approaches, with a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, or a related field with strong methodological focus.
  • Several years of postdoctoral or equivalent experience, evidenced by high-impact publications and patents.
  • Proven ability to train and mentor researchers.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for therapeutic translation.
  • Meticulous and organized, capable of managing complex projects and maintaining high-quality documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing, validating, and maintaining human adipose organoid platforms.
  • Testing LNP-mRNA and antisense oligonucleotides to target human micro/mRNA.
  • Upscaling human adipose and liver organotypic setups to robotic systems.
  • Writing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and managing critical instruments.
  • Providing hands-on training and guidance to PhD students, postdocs, and technical staff.
  • Leading collaborative projects, designing experiments, troubleshooting issues, and generating high-quality data.

Skills

  • Expertise in iPSC models focusing on adipocytes/adipose tissue.
  • Experience with RNA-based platforms in cardiometabolic cells and tissues.
  • Proficiency in designing and benchmarking anti-miRs and microRNA AAV decoys.
  • Familiarity with rodent models of metabolic disease and animal husbandry.

Education

  • PhD in a relevant scientific field.

Tools

  • Experience with proteomics, molecular biology techniques, and in vivo studies.
