About the role

Job summary

This PhD position focuses on advancing T cell therapies through the differentiation of T cells from inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The role involves collaboration in an interdisciplinary environment to develop innovative immunotherapy solutions aimed at tackling critical healthcare challenges.

Qualifications

  • MSc in biotechnology, immunology, pharmaceutical design, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in molecular biology techniques and cell culture systems.
  • Strong foundation in T cell immunology.
  • Experience with flow cytometry.
  • Familiarity with stem cell culturing and iPSC maintenance.
  • Preferably experienced in iPSC to T cell differentiation protocols.
  • Proven ability in scientific communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate nanoparticle-based biomaterials for T cell differentiation.
  • Select ligands for T cell interactions and optimize nanoparticle designs.
  • Test new solutions against existing T cell differentiation protocols.
  • Conduct genetic engineering of iPSC lines to express CARs or TCRs.
  • Perform in vitro functional validation of iPSC-derived T cell products.
  • Assess therapeutic efficacy using cancer cell line models.
  • Execute and analyze pre-clinical in vivo experiments.
  • Document and present results through scientific publications.

Education

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level is required.

Tools

  • Experience with flow cytometry and molecular biology tools is essential.
