About the role

Job summary

This position involves conducting research focused on neural development using human pluripotent stem cell technology and 3D printing to model early neurodevelopmental processes. The project aims to create an in vitro neural tube model to study midbrain-hindbrain boundary morphogenesis and teratogenesis.

Qualifications

Ideally, candidates should also have:

  • MSc in neuroscience, molecular biology, or a related field (or nearing completion)
  • Experience with human pluripotent stem cell culture
  • Experience in neuronal reprogramming and differentiation
  • Proficiency in plasmid design and cloning
  • Understanding of neurodevelopmental processes
  • Strong independent thinking and working skills
  • Clear communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques and microscopy
  • Knowledge of 3D printing and hydrogel technologies

Education

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic qualification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the development of a stem cell-derived neural tube model.
  • Establish an embedded printing platform for precise deposition of pluripotent stem cells.
  • Apply morphogen gradients for multiregional differentiation.

Tools
