Qualifications

  • PhD degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as critical data studies, sociology, or science and technology studies.
  • Strong research background with interest in datafication and its philosophical, political, or ethical dimensions.
  • Experience with qualitative research methodologies, particularly interview-based research or ethnography.
  • Proven track record or potential for high-quality scholarly publications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct original empirical and conceptual research on data ontology and data inequality.
  • Produce peer-reviewed journal articles and contribute to publicly accessible materials.
  • Participate in workshops and engage with societal actors, including policy-makers and organizations.
  • Contribute to grant acquisition and impact activities.
  • Collaborate with researchers across the ADD network.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for both academic and general audiences.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in the research community.

Education

  • A PhD in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with qualitative research tools and methodologies is advantageous.
