Job summary

This position involves conducting research on Bayesian methods to assess the public health impacts of environmental chemicals, specifically focusing on burden of disease studies related to toxicology and epidemiology. The role is part of a multidisciplinary research group and aims to develop methods for integrating various sources of evidence in environmental assessments.

Qualifications

  • PhD in statistics, mathematics, systems biology, quantitative epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Bayesian methods.
  • Knowledge in biology, toxicology, or epidemiology is preferred.
  • Strong independent working skills combined with a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and structured work habits.
  • Proficient in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research using Bayesian methods to evaluate weight-of-evidence for environmental chemicals.
  • Develop methods to integrate quantitative weight-of-evidence models into environmental burden of disease assessments.
  • Create probabilistic models for PFAS in collaboration with team members.
  • Organize and facilitate e-meetings with international project collaborators.
  • Write and publish peer-reviewed scientific articles.
  • Present research findings at international conferences.

Education

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Bayesian modelling software and statistical analysis tools relevant to public health and environmental studies.
