Job summary

This position involves supporting the development of a sensing platform for the rapid detection of illicit drugs using Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) technology. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on creating advanced detection systems for law enforcement and forensic applications.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in laboratory work and experimental method development, preferably in analytical chemistry or sensing technologies.
  • Familiarity with SERS, Raman spectroscopy, and chromatographic techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize sample preparation protocols and SERS-based assays for illicit drug detection.
  • Apply advanced spectral data analysis methods for interpreting SERS signals.
  • Establish reference analytical methods (e.g., HPLC) for assay validation.
  • Design and conduct experimental studies to evaluate assay performance metrics such as sensitivity and robustness.
  • Collaborate with microfluidics and instrumentation teams to ensure compatibility of assay chemistry and device operation.
