Research Data Steward (Agriculture, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves working at the intersection of biology and data science within a global initiative aimed at sustainable agriculture. The Research Data Steward will help establish a robust data foundation for capturing, sharing, and analyzing experimental data across international collaborators.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in data/computer science, bioinformatics, biotechnology, or a related field
• Experience in structuring biological datasets and managing data workflows
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
• Familiarity with SQL-based databases and data platforms
• Knowledge of ETL pipelines or similar data integration processes
• Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure
• Detail-oriented with a focus on enhancing data quality and usability
• Strong communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data infrastructure for experimental and analytical data
• Organize datasets from laboratory and agricultural field trials
• Facilitate data sharing among international partners
• Onboard researchers to the data systems and workflows
• Ensure data quality control and standardization through user engagement
• Prepare datasets for analysis and reporting
• Collaborate with the data science team to ensure effective data flow into analytical pipelines
