Research Scientist (Life Sciences, Copenhagen)

Job summary

A lab-based position focused on developing next-generation biologic therapies for cardiometabolic diseases, aimed at advancing research into a startup company within three years.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in molecular biology, protein science, or a related field with 0-3 years of experience (industry or academia) OR Certified Laboratory Technician with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Practical experience with mammalian cell culture and functional cell-based assays.
• Hands-on experience with protein production in mammalian cell systems and preferably E. coli.
• Strong focus on high-quality data generation, documentation, and reporting.
• Collaborative mindset and proactive attitude.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional in vitro assays, maintain cell lines, and manage cell banks.
• Conduct routine laboratory techniques such as ELISA and Western blotting.
• Support the production and purification of recombinant proteins and assist with quality control.
• Assist with daily laboratory activities to ensure project progress.
• Collaborate with the Lead Scientist and Entrepreneur in Residence to plan and coordinate experiments.
• Maintain high standards of data quality and documentation.

• Strong technical knowledge in laboratory techniques and data management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
• Organizational skills to maintain a structured laboratory setting.

Education

• Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent laboratory technician certification.

Tools
