Job summary

This role involves designing and developing infrastructure for evaluating fault-tolerance strategies in quantum computing systems, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of theorists and experimentalists. The position focuses on advancing quantum error correction codes and contributing to the development of scalable quantum computers.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Sciences, or a related field, with relevant software industry experience in commercial software, compilers, or scientific computing applications.
  • Formal experience in quantum error correction and fault-tolerance research and development.
  • Hands-on experience with modeling and analyzing circuit-level noise in quantum circuits.
  • Ability to meet security screening requirements, including citizenship verification for access to export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop infrastructure for evaluating fault-tolerance strategies in quantum systems.
  • Advance the implementation of quantum error correction codes and contribute to logical and physical qubit architecture development.
  • Support research and experimentation for building scalable quantum computers.
  • Engage in problem-solving and collaboration to address technical challenges in quantum system design.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence.

Skills

  • Proficiency in applying AI to enhance engineering processes and develop code.
  • Experience with performance modeling, research gathering, and task automation using AI tools.
  • Detail-oriented problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Advanced degree (Doctorate or Master's) preferred, with a strong background in relevant fields.

Tools

  • Programming experience in languages such as Python, Julia, Mathematica, Rust, or C/C++.
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) and scientific programming.
